Dearest Donor,

We made it!  Fifteen apprehensive students, five anxious chaperones, and one wacky tour guide walked the streets of Paris, ate lunch under the Eiffel Tower, put our feet in the Mediterranean Sea, and we loved every minute of it.  At our hotel in Paris each morning, we dined on chocolate croissants, fresh meats and cheeses.  We toured Versailles and its gardens, got up close and personal with the Mona Lisa and other masterpieces at the Louvre, tried on clothes on the Champs-Elysées, and added locks to the Pont des Arts, promising to return to Paris one day.

Other highlights included Hodrika sampling escargot (not once but twice!), watching the Eiffel Tower light up at night from our evening boat tour, and putting our nostrils to the test at the Fragonard perfumery.

The night train to Barcelona proved an adventure of its own.  Our tour guide accidentally overslept causing us to miss our stop.  We observed in the chaos that our high-spirited and good-natured students could not have cared less about the mishap; they were happy and grateful from start to end to be in Europe together, experiencing new and exciting things!

In Barcelona, we took in the view of the city from the top of Parc de Montjuïc, visited the beautiful mosaic-filled gardens of Parque Guell designed by Gaudi, and a few of us danced along with the performers at a Flamenco show.

For some students, the study of language has become a passion; for others, world travel is no longer a dream but a reality.  Without contributors such as you, this trip would not have happened.  From the bottoms of our hearts, we thank you for understanding how important this experience was.

With love,
